We are recruiting a passionate and adaptable SEN Science Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive specialist school in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity to teach Science to learners with a wide range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, communication difficulties and cognitive learning needs.Your role will help pupils develop curiosity, confidence and key scientific understanding within a safe, structured and nurturing setting.

Your Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver differentiated Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics* Adapt scientific concepts into accessible, practical learning experiences* Use strategies such as visual supports, positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques* Maintain a safe and well-organised science environment, ensuring all practical work meets health and safety requirements* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, therapists and families* Track and record pupil progress; contribute to EHCP reviews, reports and multi-agency meetings* Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and transitions throughout the school day
What We're Looking For
* QTS or QTLS (Science specialism desirable but not essential)* Experience teaching pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs* Strong understanding of differentiated learning and trauma-informed practice* A nurturing, patient and resilient approach to behaviour* Ability to break down complex scientific concepts into engaging, accessible steps* Excellent communication and teamwork skills* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
