Waste Project Manager
Location: UK (Huddersfield / Grangemouth – travel required)
Rate: £51.94 per hour via Umbrella
Contract Length: 12 months
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a portfolio of waste reduction and optimisation projects across UK manufacturing sites. This role will focus on driving cost reduction and waste valorisation initiatives through to fully developed business cases, delivering measurable operational and financial benefit
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple waste management projects across manufacturing site
* Drive reductions in waste volumes and costs, including recovery of valuable material
* Develop robust business cases for capital and operational investment, including low/no-cost improvement
* Engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders including HSEQ, Engineering, Operations, Finance and external partners
* Track and report on project performance, KPIs and financial savings
* Identify and mitigate project and environmental risks
* Conduct data analysis and develop process maps to assess and recommend optimal technical solutions
* Capture and share lessons learned and best practice across site
Skills & Experiences
* Proven track record delivering continuous improvement projects within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Experience managing capital and/or operational projects in regulated settings
* Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to influence without authority
* Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver at pace in ambiguous environments
* Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities
Technical Requirements
* Degree-qualified in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. engineering, chemical, environmental)
* Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and regulatory frameworks
* Understanding of waste management, production processes, or related technical areas

* Travel between UK sites (Huddersfield and Grangemouth) will be required
