Position Overview
This role requires a working knowledge of systems and their components, focusing on validating customer needs from pre-sales to sign-off. The Systems Engineer collaborates with sales, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and software engineering teams to ensure requirements are met and develops validation metrics for projects. The role involves working closely with customers, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Key responsibilities include managing workload to meet performance and regulatory standards, utilizing tools like MATLAB/Simulink for system analysis, supporting project stages from pre-sales to commissioning, and providing technical guidance and training.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, a technical background, a focus on product quality, and the ability to multi-task. Willingness to travel internationally is required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Manage projects to meet or exceed performance, function, and regulatory requirements.
2. Utilize system architecture, modeling, simulation, and analysis tools.
3. Support all project lifecycle stages, including pre-sales, design, testing, commissioning, and documentation.
4. Assist in training customers and internal teams, and support continuous improvement activities.
5. Lead some NPI R&D projects and support sales and service teams globally.
6. Build relationships with stakeholders and overcome obstacles pragmatically.
7. Provide technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle and maintain technical proficiency.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills:
Experience is prioritized over formal qualifications.
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years in an engineered-to-order industry.
* Hands-on experience in hardware/software systems engineering.
* Experience with dynamics (mechanics).
Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
Skills:
* Logical, pragmatic, and critical thinking skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, basic C# coding, and Microsoft Office suite.
* Ability to analyze technical data, plan, meet deadlines, and present information clearly.
