We are seeking an exceptional Senior Embryologist to join our dynamic and growing clinical team at London Women's Clinic Bromley. About the Role
As a Senior Embryologist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred laboratory services across the full spectrum of assisted reproduction techniques. You will be responsible for performing and supervising core embryology procedures, ensuring compliance with HFEA regulations, and supporting the development of junior team members.
A key requirement for this role is demonstrated competence in embryo biopsy (trophectoderm biopsy) and a current HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist/Embryologist.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform the full range of embryology and andrology procedures, including ICSI, oocyte/embryo assessment, cryopreservation, embryo transfer preparation, and quality control processes.
* Conduct high-quality trophectoderm embryo biopsies for PGT-A/PGT-M programmes.
* Ensure all laboratory activities meet HFEA regulatory standards, quality management systems, and internal SOPs.
* Support daily workflow planning, key performance metrics, and laboratory optimisation.
* Contribute to continuous quality improvement, validation projects, and implementation of new techniques.
* Provide training, mentorship, and supervision to junior embryologists and laboratory staff.
* Participate in the weekend and on-call rota as required.
* Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and confidentiality.
Requirements
* HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist (Embryology).
* Demonstrable experience and competency in embryo biopsy (trophectoderm biopsy).
* Minimum 4–5 years’ experience working within an HFEA-licensed IVF laboratory.
* Strong understanding of HFEA Code of Practice, quality systems, witnessing procedures, and lab KPIs.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

* Experience in PGT programme coordination.
* Skills in lab optimisation, workflow design, or validation of new technologies.
