The post holder will need to have a demonstrable knowledge and experience of autism. The post holder will work as part of the Adult Autism Diagnostic Service across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes to ensure local and national standards appropriate to Autism are attained.
The post holder will participate in the development of the Adult Autism Service - service development, development and education of staff, personal development, service user involvement, data quality and ensuring equality and diversity underpin the working practice of the Adult Autism Service across Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes.
The post holder will facilitate access to mainstream and specialist services including health, local authority, independent and charitable services for adults who have been assessed and diagnosed as having autism by the Adult Autism Diagnostic Service.
Main duties of the job
To work in collaboration with local services to enable open and easy access to services as above for autistic people to ensure they have an equitable experience and access to services, both autonomously and under the guidance of the Clinical nurse manager.
To promote positive experiences autistic people when accessing services using a neruoaffirming, experiential person centred approach.
To provide an evidence-based approach to the effective delivery of services, which aims to inform, educate and support all stake holders according to their individual requirements.
To maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and with full appreciation of the implication of the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.
To ensure equality and diversity underpin the day to day working of the practice area.
To support the team to adhere to financial constraints and contribute to effective budget management and to alert them to any cost pressures.
To participate in a culture of continuous professional development.
