Maintenance Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical)
Location: Ballymena
Hours: Weekly rotating shifts 04:00 - 12:30 - 12:00 - 20:30
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team within a modern, fast-paced food production environment. This is a critical role within the business, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure all machinery and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
As part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of electrical, mechanical, and automated equipment, playing a key role in ensuring continuity of production. You will have the autonomy to manage your own workload while contributing to continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with company policies
2. Install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical production equipment
3. Carry out electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis
4. Complete planned preventative maintenance schedules in full
5. Provide technical support across all departments
6. Maintain site infrastructure to a high standard
7. Implement improvements to enhance machine reliability and quality standards
8. Use CMMS systems to support cost and efficiency improvements
9. Comply with food safety, quality, legality, and environmental requirements
Essential Criteria
10. Time-served Electrical & Mechanical Engineer
11. Minimum 2 years' recent experience in an industrial or high-volume production environment
12. Proven experience in fault finding and working with control panels
13. Strong problem-solving ability
14. Highly motivated and able to perform in a demanding environment
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
