ROYAL NAVAL SCHOOL OF SEAMANSHIP ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE TRAINER (RNSoS RNRT) PURPOSE Primary Purpose. The RNSoS RNRT is primarily responsible for: The RNSoS RNRT is to assist and support the RNSoS CPO RNRT, with delivery of Seamanship t raining to the RNR. The RNRT will assist in the delivery of training packages of professional career courses to generate professionally qualified Reservists. The RNRT will work as directed by the OiC RNSoS, STO and RNSoS CPO RNST when not conducting RNR tasking. Secondary Purpose. The RNSoS RNRT is also responsible for: Providing advice and guidance to RNR units and students. Facilitate and support the delivery of weekend Seamanship training including GW PAC 24 Coxswain CPD weekends at Jupiter Point (three per year). Conduct and assist in routine refresher training at Units. Conduct refresher training for personnel iaw the training matrices. Provide training governance through the Training Delivery Authority (TDA). Act as support for Seamanship training for RNR regional and national events. ACCOUNTABLILITY The RNSoS RNRT is accountable to: OiC RNSoS for the development and delivery of RNR Seamanship training. The RNRT is accountable to the OiC RNSoS, STO and RNSoS CPO RNRT who will be the incumbent’s Divisional authority. Depending on rank either WO1 RNSoS or RNSoS CPO RNST will be the 1RO for the RNRT. AUTHORITY The RNSoS RNRT is authorised to: Liaise direct, at the appropriate level, with external authorities and lead schools on matters relating to the support of the RNR seamanship training effort. Liaise with RNR Units concerning seamanship management and the delivery of training. Liaise with RNR General Warfare (GW) Management Team and attend GW meetings as required. PRINCIPLE TASKS The RNSoS RNRT principal tasks are: To assist RNSoS CPO RNRT in the development of appropriate Seamanship training packages for RNR purposes and in accordance with the RNR RPS training requirement. Facilitate and assist in weekend and evening RNR seamanship training. Assist and support the RNSoS CPO RNRT in the delivery of RNR Professional Qualifying Courses (PQC) in accordance with RNR RPS and FTS requirements.
