About the Role:
A welcoming secondary school in Bordon is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This full-time role begins in November 2025 and offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people who require specialist support in their education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with PMLD.
2. Assist with personal care and mobility needs, following individual care plans.
3. Support students in accessing a sensory-based curriculum tailored to their needs.
4. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver inclusive learning.
5. Promote independence, communication, and engagement in all activities.
Requirements:
6. Experience supporting young people with PMLD or complex needs is highly desirable.
7. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to care and learning.
8. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
9. Willingness to undertake relevant training (, manual handling, communication aids).
10. A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is essential.
