Overview
We are looking for HGV Drivers with a Class 2 License to work on significant, large scale construction activity across multiple sites. As a HGV driver on this project, you'll be responsible for the timely, safe, and compliant delivery of construction equipment and materials onsite, including import and export of reinstatement materials, delivery of fittings, and use of mechanical excavation equipment and vehicles. You will drive Logistics vehicles, including HGV "Grab" lorries. This role supports the safe and efficient removal of waste materials and spoil, as well as the delivery of new usable materials to facilitate the completion of main renewal phases. The role requires a 42-hour week, Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 AM and ending at 4:30 PM, with a half-hour early finish at 4:00 PM on Fridays.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate closely with the Network Logistics supervisor and Network Construction Operatives to facilitate the safe and effective removal and disposal of asbestos.
* Ensure all excavations are safe and secure, and that domestic and commercial access is maintained; liaise with customers where required.
Qualifications
* Class 2 Driver's Licence (minimum category C, preferably CE)
* HGV qualification and experience driving HGVs (or working towards)
* Experience in the utility and/or construction industry
* HIAB (Grab) qualification and NRSWA Operative
* Track record of safely driving Logistics vehicles, especially HGV "Grab" lorries; excellent customer service skills; ability to transport and deliver plant, tools, and equipment
