SP Energy Networks (SPEN) is part of Scottish Power. We provide power on behalf of supply companies through a network of cables and power lines that we own and maintain. We supply power to customers in Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, North Shropshire, Central and Southern Scotland.

As a technical Support (Design) you will support the delivery of ENATS 43‑8, ETR 132 and reactive works, including ESQCR, HFR and General Enquiry Cases. You will ensure the appropriate circuits and sites are issued to contractors and support reporting and programming of cutting works, including planning outages to clear sites impacted by vegetation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monitor and report progress of current vegetation management programmes, issuing work to service partners via SPEN Vegetation Management System.
  • Maintain financial control and governance through SAP by raising accurate purchase and work orders and processing applications within set weekly timescales.
  • Provide support in preparing presentations for monthly service partner performance meetings.
  • Carry out analysis on business performance data and prepare reports and presentations for the programme manager.
  • Prioritise activities to achieve departmental goals and minimise risk.
  • Deliver additional business initiatives in line with operating plan requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • Ability to work as part of a multi‑functional team.
  • Experience in preparing analysis, reports and presentations for senior management; numerically articulate with strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Energy Networks IT systems, including SAP, DOP and Utility Map Viewer (UMV).
  • Ability to devise solutions to complex problems and challenges.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, including SharePoint and other Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Developed customer service skills.
