Client Summary:
A well known and highly regarded business specialising in all forms Welding and Weld Inspection / Testing. Supporting critical operations across a range of industries including Rail, Marine, Oil and Gas as well as Power Generation.
Position Summary:
Supporting the business as a Welder - subcontracted out to various companies to undertake specialist weld assessments, repairs and inspections. The candidate would be required to travel to various work sites across the UK and work away from Home on some ongoing projects.
Duties include:
* Carry out welding repairs, modifications, and fabrication work on a variety of components, including rail rolling stock.
* Work with different welding methods, including MIG/MAG, TIG, and Manual Metal Arc (Stick).
* Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate work.
* Undertake work in both workshop and site environments, ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.
* Contribute to the successful delivery of projects across the East Midlands, with flexibility for occasional travel nationwide.
The Candidate:
* Proven experience in welding within heavy engineering, rail, or manufacturing environments.
* Competency in MIG/MAG, TIG, and Manual Metal Arc (Stick) welding (or at least two of these).
* Previous experience with coding/certifications highly desirable.
* Previous experience working with aluminium and stainless steel beneficial but not essential.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
* Ideally Apprentice Trained with Relevant NVQ / City and Guilds Certificates
* Full UK Driving Licence (Required)
* Flexibility with travel and ability to stay away from home on occassion
