Process Engineer
We are recruiting for a permanent Process Engineer for our Banbury based client. Your role will be to oversee and implement new processes & procedures required for the safe and efficient introduction of new product lines and technologies into the moulding process, ensuring a smooth and managed introduction of equipment onto the shop floor by way of meeting the training and knowledge needs of the Operators, Tool Changers & Process Technicians.
As a Process Engineer, you will need to have/be:
* Good analytical skills.
* Tool changing and / or process experience necessary.
* Able to work using your own initiative, and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company.
* Manual dexterity.
* Literacy and numeracy.
* Ability to identify different colours of products (i.e. Ishihara).
* A high level of knowledge & experience regarding injection moulding tools, processing, moulding machines and secondary equipment.
* 10+ years' higher level technical processing experience within automotive injection moulding environment.
* Proven history of implementing new ideas and processes. Must be comfortable with integrating new technologies into an existing business environment.
* Proven history in improving supply chain efficiency.

Working Hours: Full time, Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 4.30pm and Friday 8.00am - 1.30pm

Role of Process Engineer:
* Develop, configure and optimise manufacturing processes for new product lines and technologies, from concept through to introduction, validation and certification.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Engineering and Mould Engineering to ensure all production requirements are achieved.
* Participate in internal project meetings to review new process and equipment plans, monitor progress and ensure milestones are met.
* Define project timelines and action plans to support the successful introduction of new products and technologies.
* Develop and implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve production performance, including material handling, secondary mould operations, cooling, de-gating fixtures, inline measurement concepts and part handling/storage.
* Identify opportunities to improve existing equipment or introduce new technology to enhance efficiency, quality and waste reduction.
* Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, processes and documentation for new product introductions and equipment implementation.
* Conduct process simulations and equipment trials both on-site and at supplier locations to validate performance prior to implementation.
* Lead equipment and technology trials to verify capability and ensure successful integration into production.
* Maintain full documentation and records for all new equipment installations and process introductions.
* Carry out risk assessments and work closely with the Health & Safety team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
* Support engineering teams with the introduction of new products into the mould shop and provide ongoing technical expertise to improve plant performance.
* Take a hands‑on and flexible approach to ensure smooth product launches and the successful implementation of new manufacturing processes.
* Escalate any issues that could impact project timelines, new technology implementation or equipment introduction.
* Promote a professional image of the company to customers and visitors in line with Magna's Operational Principles.
* Support and drive improvements in mould shop KPIs and ensure a Right First Time (RFT) approach to new product introduction.
