The successful candidate will have duties which supports:
1. Covering and contributing to the Operational Coordinator rota
2. Contribute to the on call rota
3. Clinical care to patients
4. Mentor and coach junior staff and students
5. Act as a role model for excellence in clinical care and compassionate leadership
6. Contribute to workforce planning and rota coordination
7. Working with the Obstetric team, key stakeholders and colleagues to ensure safe, effective and compassionate care is delivered consistently

Qualifications
Essential criteria
8. Registered midwife with NMC registration
9. Completed preceptorship programme
Desirable criteria
10. Leadership or management qualification
11. Examination of the newborn
Experience
Essential criteria
12. Band 6 clinical experience. Credible clinical background.
13. Experience in leadership/team leadership role.
14. Experience in specific area relevant to role.
15. Working with patients with complex needs.
Desirable criteria
16. Risk management experience.
17. Audit experince.
Technical competencies
Essential criteria
18. Practice supervisor
19. Up to date with all mandatory training requirements.
20. Understanding of leadership styles and impact on patient care.
21. Able to use IT packages such as spreadsheets, power points, virtual meetings.
Desirable criteria
22. Practice assessor
Knowledge
Essential criteria
23. Evidence of national guidance pertaining to antenatal care and induction of labour.
24. Knowledge of local reporting pathways and assurance.

25. Able to work shifts over a 7 day week.
