Job Title: Clerk of Works (Building)
The West London NHS Trust is recruiting a Clerk of Works (Building) to join its Major Capital Projects Team.
Team Responsibilities
The Major Capital Projects Team oversees the Trust’s project delivery, managing all aspects from business case planning to project completion, including stakeholder engagement, governance, design, procurement, cost management, contracts, and construction, refurbishment, or fit-out stages.
Candidate Requirements
We seek an experienced Clerk of Works with comprehensive knowledge of construction, building regulations, standards, and legislation, preferably within a healthcare setting and familiar with NHS capital project frameworks. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, health and safety practices, with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. The role involves handling multiple high-value projects.
Role Responsibilities
The Clerk of Works will ensure the delivery of modern facilities that promote effective patient care. They will work closely with Project Managers and other professionals, guiding projects through RIBA stages 0-5, and conducting due diligence and compliance checks throughout design and construction phases. Regular monitoring and reporting on technical stages are essential.
Additional Details
This leadership position requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual capable of planning and executing their duties efficiently. The post involves travel between projects located in Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Southall, and Crowthorne in Berkshire.
