Are you a natural leader with the passion to inspire and motivate others in a fast-paced and dynamic veterinary environment?

Our Huddersfield Vets for Pets team is looking for the right person to join us as a Practice Manager on a full-time basis. If you have strong problem-solving skills, enjoy planning and delivering projects, and are confident managing HR processes within a diverse and inclusive team, this could be the perfect role for you.

Previous experience in a veterinary practice is not essential; however, proven leadership ability, strong organisational skills, and the ability to motivate and support a team are qualities we value highly.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the practice. A key part of the position will be leading, supporting, and motivating the team while creating a positive and productive working environment.

You will oversee the operational management of the practice to ensure the delivery of high-quality animal healthcare services, while working closely with the business development partner to achieve business objectives and maximise the practice’s potential.

What will you do?

1. Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the practice
2. Champion and embed our ethos of being the friendliest practice in the area across everything we do
3. Manage and implement HR policies, while supporting and developing our valued colleagues
4. Proactively resolve issues to ensure consistently high standards of service
5. Recruit, train and develop a high-performing team
6. Work closely with the business development partner to oversee and manage practice debt
7. Handle and resolve client complaints professionally and effectively
8. Effectively manage your own workload and diary to deliver all responsibilities successfully

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week.

You will have previous experience managing a team and be an effective communicator with strong organisational and time management skills. You will enjoy building positive relationships with both clients and colleagues and have a genuine passion for developing, supporting, and coaching team members.

11. Ability to analyse periodic profit & loss accounts and identify opportunities to drive practice profitability.
12. Assured, effective communicator who can build rapport quickly with the practice team.
13. Effective mentor and coach to all colleagues within the practice.
14. Be an effective team player able to work well with others towards common goals
15. Effective Planning and Organisation to prioritise workload and achieve timescales
16. Ability to recognise client needs and take appropriate timely action to improve service standard
17. Microsoft Office expertise
