Our client is offering a rare opportunity to transition into hazardous area electrical work, supporting critical infrastructure across the UK’s energy sector. Due to continued growth, our client is expanding their electrical team and is looking for an Approved Electrician to cover sites across the Cambridgeshire and wider East Anglia region.
The role focuses primarily on electrical maintenance and reactive works across petrol filling station sites and other energy-related infrastructure.
While experience in commercial or industrial environments is beneficial, it is not essential. Our client is open to meeting electricians from domestic backgrounds who are looking to progress their careers and gain experience working within hazardous environments, with full training and development provided.
About the role:
* Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across a portfolio of customer sites.
* Respond to breakdowns and support planned preventative maintenance works.
* Complete electrical documentation and RAMS in line with compliance requirements.
* Liaise with customers on site and provide professional service while representing the business.
* Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with relevant industry regulations.
* Work independently across your regional patch while maintaining strong communication with the wider engineering team.
* Travel to sites across the Cambridge / Luton region, with occasional overnight stays when required.
About you:
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* ECS or JIB Gold Card preferred.
* Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
* Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
* C&G 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification (training can be provided for the right candidate)
* CompEx certification (training can be provided).
