About The Role

* Inclusive Teaching & Learner Support – Deliver engaging, differentiated teaching across Pathways programmes; meet individual needs (including complex SEND); assess and record progress; maintain accurate documentation; and ensure behaviour aligns with the Student Code of Conduct.
* Curriculum Development & Sensory Provision – Develop and implement inclusive curriculum materials, contribute to course design, embed sensory strategies, support sensory circuits, and create sensory‑supportive learning environments tailored to learners’ profiles and Preparing for Adulthood outcomes.
* Specialist SEND Collaboration – Work closely with Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, behaviour specialists and support staff to embed communication, regulation and independence strategies into personalised learning programmes.
* Team Contribution & Quality Processes – Plan and oversee support staff within learning sessions, participate in team meetings, support quality assurance (feedback, reviews, moderation), engage with vocational and enrichment opportunities, and stay current in your specialist area.
* College Engagement & Compliance – Take part in promotional events, uphold safeguarding, EDI and H&S requirements, complete administrative tasks to meet funding rules, and participate in ongoing professional development and SEND‑specific training.


About You

* Qualifications & Professional Requirements – Relevant degree and/or Level 5 qualification, GCSE Maths and English (A–C or equivalent). Willingness to achieve a CertEd/PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Teaching, SEND & Curriculum Expertise – Recent experience teaching and assessing Entry Level and above, strong knowledge of SEND developments, EHCPs, inclusive practice and differentiated teaching, plus assessment and moderation skills aligned to awarding body standards.
* Student‑Centred Skills & Pastoral Qualities – Ability to build supportive learning environments, demonstrate empathy, patience and strong behaviour‑management skills, and maintain a consistent focus on learner motivation, progress, independence and wellbeing.
* Professional Skills, Teamwork & Values – Proven high performance, strong organisational and interpersonal skills, ability to work to deadlines, collaborate across the College, influence effectively and work fully in line with College values.
* Communication, Digital Skills & Safeguarding – Confident use of Microsoft Office and digital tools, strong communication across all channels, ability to work with students, families and colleagues, plus strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to student welfare.
