Controls Engineering Team Lead

Job Description
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Supervise, train, and guide all Controls engineering designers on your team.
2. Collaborate with Applications Engineering to support proposals and manage projects from concept through lifecycle support.
3. Develop control architectures with project teams, based on ATS standards and customer specifications.
4. Participate in the development and implementation of tools, methods, and modules to maintain standards.
5. Work with teams to improve controls technology integration, safety, and functionality.
6. Ensure projects meet cost and schedule budgets.
7. Assign daily activities to team members.
8. Review and approve work products for functionality, standards, accuracy, and safety.
9. Approve material requisitions for your projects.
10. Maintain forecasts and improvement plans related to labor, materials, and schedules.
11. Ensure milestones for controls design and integration are achieved.
12. Provide technical assessments of team members for performance evaluations.
13. Set goals and manage performance with Controls Managers.
14. Lead and mentor team members.
15. Evaluate new controls products for cost-effectiveness and relevance.
16. Collaborate with customers, project managers, and other teams to resolve issues and meet requirements.
17. Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures and provide necessary training.
18. Maintain high ethical standards and compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
19. Follow divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures.
20. Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and accidents/incidents.
21. Ensure the use of protective equipment and participate in safety training.
Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, or software controls technology.
Experience: Proven experience in industrial development, producing controls for automated systems, with leadership qualities, and hands-on skills in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
