Overview Of Job Description
The CCTV Controller is accountable to the Security Supervisor for the support, management, and delivery of security within the shopping centre environment. The CCTV Controller will ensure exemplary standards of security and customer service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.
Job Details
* Job Title: CCTV Controller
* Location: The Dolphin Centre, Poole
* Pay Rate: £12.94 per hour
* Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 42 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all control room procedures in line with CCTV codes of practice.
* Support and guide other site-based centre staff.
* Supervise security officers to ensure company procedures are followed.
* Liaise with statutory authorities and security supervisors regarding incidents and information sharing.
* Monitor CCTV, fire panels, intruder panels, and related security equipment continuously.
* Manage site radio systems and monitor communications.
* Observe and interpret human behaviour, monitor surveillance, log, and report incidents according to policies.
* Prioritize incidents, inform relevant personnel, and follow escalation procedures.
* Maintain records including health & safety documents, incident reports, and site logs.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR and related regulations.
* Monitor access to and from service yards and management areas.
* Maintain a safe, non-threatening environment for customers and staff.
* Provide feedback to management, suggest improvements, and support security audits.
* Advise the Security Supervisor on security matters.
* Uphold professional standards and team welfare.
* Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.
* Interact courteously with visitors and tenants, delivering excellent customer service.
* Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards.
* Handle emergencies effectively, including fire and bomb threats, keeping the team informed.
* Assist contractors and visitors as needed, ensuring site procedures are followed.
* Respond promptly to security issues and events.
* Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Required Skills and Experience
* Experience in corporate or retail security (desirable).
* Customer service experience (desirable).
* Strong organizational skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High grooming standards and well-presented.
* Outgoing, friendly, with a positive attitude.
* Reliable and punctual.
* Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
Qualifications
* SIA and DS licenses.
