Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join and support our theatre teams in Ealing Hospital. You will perform supportive roles alongside experts in the field in a busy but friendly environment using advanced technology to care for and serve our patients in various surgical specialties. Theatre experience is an advantage, but in‑housing training and education will be provided for suitable candidates to fulfill the role. You will also participate as part of the team to support out‑of‑hours, weekend and night‑time emergency surgery after training.
Newly appointed staff have a supernumerary induction period, supported by a Practice Development Nurse using our in‑house competency documents. The department offers training and career development for our support workers.
Upon successful completion of the theatre support worker competency programme, you will circulate for a range of procedures under supervision. You will also have a chance to learn to manage the instrument and stock supply for the department. As your confidence and knowledge grow you will take an active role in teaching newcomers and theatre trainees.
