Job Description

ABOUT AKKAR

Akkar is a global recruitment, engineering consultancy, and mobility services organisation headquartered in the UK with operations across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. We specialise in placing exceptional talent into the world’s most innovative companies across defence, aerospace, space, autonomy, robotics, motorsport, and advanced mobility.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a high-impact operational role within Akkar’s Global Mobility team. You will be the engine room for all visa, immigration, and worker compliance activity, taking ownership of complex casework across the UK, US, Middle East, and Europe. You’ll work directly with clients, workers, and internal teams to ensure seamless international deployments.

This role has been created to support a planned transition within the team, giving you the opportunity to rapidly build expertise and take on significant responsibility from day one. Over time, you will become Akkar’s subject matter expert on niche visa and immigration solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Visa & Immigration Casework

* Prepare, manage, and submit complex visa and immigration applications for Akkar and its clients across the UK, US, Middle East, and Europe.
* Own the end-to-end process for each case from initial assessment and document gathering through to submission, tracking, and post-approval actions.
* Handle Skilled Worker visas, Sponsor Licence management, US visas, GCC work permits, and European Blue Card / Posted Worker arrangements.
* Liaise with external immigration lawyers, consulates, and government bodies to resolve complex or escalated cases.

Client & Worker Support

* Act as the primary point of contact for clients and workers on all global mobility and immigration matters.
* Proactively communicate case progress, flag risks, and manage expectations throughout the immigration lifecycle.
* Support worker onboarding and relocation processes in partnership with recruitment and account management teams.

Compliance & Contracts

* Ensure compliance is maintained across all contractor and worker contracts globally, including right-to-work checks, sponsor duties, and reporting obligations.
* Support the management of Akkar’s UK Sponsor Licence, ensuring full adherence to UKVI duties and record-keeping requirements.
* Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure international worker arrangements are compliant with local employment and tax regulations.

Research & Subject Matter Expertise

* Stay current on immigration policy changes, new visa routes, and regulatory developments across the UK, US, Middle East, and Europe.
* Build and maintain internal knowledge resources and process documentation for the Global Mobility function.
* Develop deep expertise in niche visa solutions that support Akkar’s client base including ITAR-related mobility, defence sector clearances, and cross-border secondment structures.
* Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce processing times, and mitigate compliance risks.

Internal Collaboration

* Work closely with recruitment consultants, account managers, HR, and finance teams to ensure seamless international placements.
* Provide internal training and guidance on immigration processes to upskill the wider Akkar team.
* Contribute to the development of Akkar’s Global Mobility service offering, including Employer of Record (EOR).

ABOUT YOU

Essential

* 3+ years’ hands-on experience with immigration casework.
* Strong working knowledge of visa and immigration processes.
* Proven ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail.
* Experience liaising directly with clients, candidates, and external legal advisors on immigration matters.
* Commercially aware, you understand how immigration services fit within a recruitment and talent solutions business.
* Highly organised with the ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and meet hard deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, you can explain complex processes clearly to non-experts.

Desirable

* Experience within a recruitment agency, staffing business, or immigration consultancy.
* Knowledge of US visa categories and ITAR/export control implications for worker mobility.
* Familiarity with Middle East work permit processes.
* Understanding of Employer of Record (EOR) structures and international contractor compliance.
* Experience with HRIS or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, BrightHR).
