Overview
You will be based in Crawley, providing assessments and treatment for clients with severe and enduring mental health conditions. You will liaise with acute care services, Crisis cafés in partnership with local 3rd sector providers, Police Street triage options and Police Custody Healthcare to support clients with their mental health and wellbeing. You will plan and provide a range of occupational assessments and treatments that promote recovery and wellbeing for the people that the postholder works with, and provide occupational therapy interventions for referred clients using evidence‑based, client‑centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week within the 9‑5, Monday to Friday opening hours of the service.
Responsibilities
* Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop treatment plans for clients with severe and enduring mental health conditions.
* Liaise with acute care services, Crisis cafés, Police Street triage and Police Custody Healthcare to coordinate care.
* Deliver occupational therapy interventions using evidence‑based, client‑centred principles.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, ensuring outcomes align with clients’ recovery goals.
* Deliver Recovery Through Activity sessions to support recovery from an occupational therapy perspective.
* Provide specialist OT assessment and deliver interventions for individual service users within a relational, attachment‑ and trauma‑informed framework.
* Encourage and support staff in accessing further training and development, including mentalisation‑based therapy (MBT).
Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
* Evidence of post‑graduate level study or training.
* Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HPC) as an occupational therapist.
* Practice education training.
* Training in the use of standardised occupational therapy assessment tools.
