GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school community in Littlehampton this September. This full-time, long-term SEN TA position offers a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s learning and overall development.
Responsibilities as a SEN TA:
Offer personalised support to individual students or small groups based on their unique learning needs.
Help teachers by delivering specific learning activities suited to each learner’s ability.
Encourage positive behaviour and help students develop their social skills.
Monitor children’s progress and wellbeing through regular observation and documentation.
Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other staff to achieve young people’s learning objectives.
Requirements for SEN TA:
Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs is desirable.
Show patience, empathy, and a hands-on, solution-focused mindset.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps explained.
