Job Title: Learning Disability Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Disability Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care needs for patients with a learning disability across Black Country Healthcare.
Main duties of the job
* Carry out all appropriate care interventions and assume the role of nurse-in-charge or care lead as required.
* Supervise junior staff, including students.
* Apply enhanced knowledge, skills, experience, and leadership appropriate to the care setting.
* Provide up-to-date, research-based nursing care to patients with learning disabilities, aiming to improve lives and ensure positive patient experiences.

* Act as a team leader in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care programs in community or inpatient settings.
* Take charge of the unit or equivalent as required.
* Ensure adherence to national and local policies.
* Commit to personal development and stay informed about current research in learning disabilities.
* Participate in educational programs for staff and students.
* Assist patients in exercising choice and self-determination, respecting their rights and maintaining family relationships.
* Collaborate with qualified staff and team members to deliver quality services.
* Maintain professionalism to enhance the reputation of the service.
Person specification
* NMC registration.
* Experience working in community and inpatient settings.
* Experience working with patients with learning disabilities.
