We are currently looking for a Curatorial Assistant to join our Hayward Gallery Touring team on a full time, fixed term basis until December 2026. Part of the Visual Arts department at Southbank Centre, Hayward Gallery Touring is the UK’s largest contemporary art organisation producing exhibitions that tour the UK. Working with museums, galleries, artists, curators, designers and writers, Hayward Gallery Touring supports new ideas and curatorial approaches, creating ambitious exhibitions that expand and complement our partner‑galleries’ programmes. As a Curatorial Assistant, you will be part of the planning, development and delivery of the British Art Show 10, a major high‑profile exhibition celebrating the vitality and inventiveness of recent British art. Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development of BAS10, from inception to delivery at the first venues, and continuing with contributing to venue liaison across the five‑city tour.
* Liaise with and provide exhibition information and materials to other sections within the Department, other staff within Southbank Centre, and externally as necessary.
* Liaise with artists, curators, venues and lenders to help coordinate and facilitate new artists’ commissions and support them in planning their presentation.
* Support the exhibition curator with plans and details of each venue and coordinate their travel arrangements and studio visits as required.
* Prepare loan correspondence and monitor loan requests.
Skills & Experience
* Has experience of working in a visual arts organisation and supporting the organisation of exhibitions and of liaising with artists.
* Is able to work well and communicate with a wide range of people.
* Is well organised, with demonstrable administration skills, research skills, and a methodical approach and strong attention to detail.
* Can manage their own time, prioritise workload, and is able to work to, meet and ensure others meet deadlines.
* Has good IT skills, including proficient use of MS Office, Google Drive and Photoshop.
