Family Care is a family‑owned social care provider with over 30 years of experience working therapeutically with children. Caring for someone else’s child in your own home requires a special kind of person, and we support our foster carers with guidance from Supervising Social Workers, Support Workers and Managers.
About the Role
The post is based from our Chorley (Lancashire) office, with some working from home permitted on approval. Flexible working hours are essential and a commitment to some weekend and unsocial hours is required to support foster carers, training and children. The role includes out‑of‑hours rota duty on a first‑response basis with a manager on call.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide regular supervision, support and guidance to foster carers
* Undertake assessments, including Form F and annual reviews
* Ensure foster placements are safe, stable and meet the individual needs of children and carers
* Work collaboratively with local authorities and other stakeholders
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records and reports
* Participate in an out‑of‑hours rota
Qualifications
* Social Work qualification (DipSW, BA, MA or equivalent)
* Registration with Social Work England
* Experience in fostering or children’s social care
* Strong assessment, report writing and communication skills
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Enhanced DBS compliance
