Overview
The Management Accountant will develop, manage, and refine monthly management accounts, providing critical financial insights. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate invoicing and billing to support cash flow, overseeing supplier invoicing via electronic recognition software, and documenting internal processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency. The role requires adaptability and a proactive approach within a small team.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including schedules and KPIs.
* Manage the month-end process to deliver timely and accurate management reports for senior management and the Board.
* Handle prepayments and accruals monthly.
* Oversee invoice recognition software (Icompleat) for accurate coding and distribution.
* Maintain purchase ledger controls for account accuracy.
* Update financial reports, including balance sheets, cash flow, volume data, and contract integrations.
* Improve cost allocation methods for contracts.
* Perform ad-hoc tasks supporting a team of three.
Required Qualifications
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified.
* Healthcare experience preferred.
* Experience with sales ledger, purchase ledger, asset funding, and general accounting.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
* Attention to detail in a busy environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in healthcare settings.
* Familiarity with Sage software.
* Self-motivated with initiative.
* Proven process improvement skills with measurable outcomes.
What We Offer
* Salary: £50,000 per annum
* Full-time, permanent role (37.5 hours/week)
* Location: Birmingham, Edgbaston
* Work Pattern: Hybrid
* 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
