Join Our Warm, "Home from Home" Setting and Make a Lasting Difference

Are you passionate about early childhood education and creating nurturing environments for young learners? At Jellytots Day Nursery, we pride

ourselves on our "home from home" ethos, offering children and their families a

welcoming, supportive, and enriching environment where curiosity flourishes and

every day feels like coming home. Our setting is designed to emulate the warmth and familiarity of a family house, with thoughtfully appointed play spaces, cosy

reading corners, and a spacious garden encouraging exploration and discovery.

We believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued, and comfortable—and

our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure every child receives the very

best start in life.

The Role: Early Years Room Leader

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years Room Leader to join our vibrant team. In this pivotal role, you will lead a group of dedicated practitioners,

shaping the daily experiences of children aged 0–5 years. Your leadership, creativity, and empathy will ensure that our children enjoy a rich, stimulating, and homely environment that supports their individual needs, interests, and developmental milestones.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and inspire a small team of Early Years Practitioners, fostering a collaborative and positive atmosphere.

· Plan, deliver, and evaluate a broad range of age-appropriate activities—indoors and outdoors—that reflect our "home from home" ethos, supporting every aspect of children's holistic development.

· Build key relationships with children and their families, serving as a consistent, caring point of contact and ensuring open channels of communication.

· Observe, assess, and record children's learning, using this information to tailor next steps and support each child's unique learning journey.

· Promote and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, health, safety, and well-being for all children in your care.

· Maintain a safe, tidy, and inviting environment, ensuring resources reflect both the comfort of home and the wonder of discovery.

· Contribute to the ongoing development of our home-inspired curriculum, sharing ideas, best practices, and innovative approaches with the wider team.

· Support and mentor team members, encouraging their professional growth and ensuring consistency in practice.

· Work closely with the management team to uphold our shared vision and values throughout the setting.

What Makes Our Setting Unique?

· Cosy, light-filled rooms furnished with soft furnishings, story nooks, and natural

resources that evoke a genuine sense of home.

· Child-sized furniture, family-style dining, and daily routines designed to build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging.

· A beautiful garden with sensory paths, mud

kitchens, and plenty of opportunities for outdoor play—regardless of the

weather

· Regular, small-group story times, baking sessions, and creative arts activities that echo the warmth and togetherness of family life.

· Personalisedsettling-in processes, ensuring each child (and family) transitions smoothly and comfortably.

· Supportive, family-focused leadership who value your expertise, well-being, and professional development.

Who We're Looking For

· Qualified: Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent). A foundation in child development and the EYFS framework is essential.

· Experienced: Previous experience in an Early Years leadership or senior practitioner role, ideally within a "home from home" or similar nurturing setting.

· Empathetic and Approachable: Genuine passion for supporting young children and their families, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Creative and Proactive: Able to design and deliver rich, hands-on learning experiences that reflect the warmth and diversity of home life.

· Organised and Reliable: Strong planning, record-keeping, and team leadership abilities, with a focus on safety, safeguarding, and best practice.

· Collaborative: Willingness to work closely with colleagues, parents, and the wider community to ensure the highest quality of care and education.

· Committed to Inclusion: Dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all children, respecting individual backgrounds, needs, and abilities.

Benefits

· Competitive salary, reviewed annually

· Generous holiday allowance and additional days off for your birthday and special occasions

· Comprehensive training and professional development opportunities, including leadership pathways

· Supportive, family-style management who genuinely care about your well-being and career journey

· Team events, wellbeing sessions, and regular staff appreciation initiatives
