Core subject tutoring (Maths, English, or Science) for young people with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs in Somerset / Bristol. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, as well as other needs such as SEMH. We are supporting children and young people with MLD and SLD.
We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Somerset / Bristol. At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who want to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Work with young people referred by local authorities and schools, providing educational and social-emotional support
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic, engaging sessions that meet needs and advance educational and social-emotional journey
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (support with obtaining this at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including remote/online assignments
It is a strict requirement to promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies at all times.
SEN / SEND Tutor employment status
* Engage with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service with PAYE payment
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
