Principal Subsea Production Systems Engineer
We are seeking a seasoned Subsea Production Systems engineer to join our Subsea and Pipelines team, providing technical excellence within the discipline and further developing this offering for Genesis. The role involves design, definition, and delivery of subsea Production systems at all phases, including installation, commissioning and operational support for both traditional oil and gas projects and energy‑transition initiatives such as Carbon Capture and Underground Storage (CCUS).
Typical activities include:
* Definition of subsea production system equipment, umbilicals and architecture for concept and FEED studies; contribution to the selection and options process for field layout and architecture.
* Undertaking specialist subsea control system studies for system expansion, life extension, fault finding and rectification.
* Package management for design, procurement, installation and commissioning of new systems and equipment.
* Operations support and system integrity management.
* Support to interface engineering, subsea system engineering & management.
Assess & Select Phases
* Perform subsea production discipline engineering critical tasks to deliver PCAP control points such as subsea field layouts, concept select reports, preliminary design packages and basis for design.
* Identify customers’ business & technical needs; develop options for subsea controls system; specify functional & performance requirements for a competitive subsea controls system.
* Provide input into other PCAP control points such as cost & schedule estimates, risk register, risk assessments, integrated technical reviews.
Define & Execute Phases
* Deliver or support delivery of PCAP control points, vendor technical deliverables and documents.
* Interface with key client disciplines, manage technical interfaces with stakeholders, verify technical requirements, witness FATs/SITs, deliver vendor as‑built and handover subsea control system to the client’s assets group, respond to technical queries.
* Provide input into other PCAP control points such as cost & schedule estimates, risk register, risk assessments, integrated technical reviews.
Skill & experience required:
* Seasoned experience in subsea production systems and controls.
* Good knowledge of subsea controls equipment, umbilicals, interfaces and key codes and standards.
* Good knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Experience in manufacturing, consultancy, OEM design or offshore environment.
* Experience working on front‑end engineering and FEED stages of greenfield and brownfield projects.
* Experience in delivery, installation, and commissioning of subsea production systems.
* Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or Chartered Engineer.
* Knowledge of HV AC/DC distribution systems and networks.
