Deputy Team Leader Role – What is involved?
The Deputy Team Leader will be responsible for assisting with the management of an Account Manager team within Lockton Commercial, currently a team of 6 with plans to expand to support our continued growth across the business. You will also be responsible for managing your own client portfolio and acting as a referral point for any client questions or issues.
Deputy Team management
* Assisting with oversight of resources across the team, allocating new and existing clients, and providing support on workload management.
* Providing advice and guidance as required, acting as a referral point for technical or client queries from the team, and as an escalation point for any issues.
* Providing ongoing training and development, with a focus on early career talent development to ensure strong foundations for our Associates and supporting the ongoing development of experienced Associates.
* Ensuring team adherence to Lockton standards and procedures.
* Collating MI to share with the Team Manager.
* Understanding the business strategy and actively participating in developing and evolving the team strategy.
Account Manager
* Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients to ensure the delivery of the best service for all their insurance needs.
* Developing close working relationships with the market.
* Managing a portfolio of existing and new clients, supporting their insurance needs and renewal processes, including strategy meetings, market submissions, renewal analysis, identifying opportunities for additional services, and tracking policies through renewal.
* Engaging with the wider team to promote new business initiatives.
* Proactively tracking renewal periods, developing renewal strategies, and ensuring the retention of commercially successful business.
Skills and experience
* Demonstrable experience in people or team management, including coaching, training, and development.
* Proven experience in Client Account Management.
* Strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and effective communication with clients and colleagues.
* Leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with Associates at all levels.
