GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Rotherham (S65) area. As a SEMH TA, you will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support, providing tailored interventions to help them engage positively in learning, build resilience, and develop essential life skills. Responsibilities as a SEMH Teaching Assistant: Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs. Promote positive behaviour and encourage emotional wellbeing. Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management. Help pupils develop resilience, confidence, and social skills. Provide encouragement and guidance to foster a positive attitude towards learning. Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable. Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills. Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable under pressure. A nurturing approach with the ability to build positive relationships.
