Goodfish Group is the UKs leading privately-owned contract manufacturer of plastic and composite components, with expertise in injection moulding, extrusion, vacuum-forming and tooling, serving customers predominantly in automotive, aerospace, medical, heating, cooling, retail displays, electrical and water distribution, and building products. With 4 sites across the UK, Goodfish Group is looking for a Quality Technician based at our St Asaph site. This role is vital to ensure all parts conform to the quality standard and to provide hands-on assistance with all aspects of quality control and assurance on and off the shop floor. Responsibilities
* Ensure first-off parts are to drawing & specification; record and pass off as appropriate
* Complete certificates of conformity and submit to clients
* Gather information required for and contribute to 8D completion
* Sugest and implement appropriate counter-measures (e.g. Poke Yoke) to help reduce PPM defect rate
* Gather information to assist the part approval process including the measuring of parts using a variety of measuring equipment e.g. micrometer, vernier and CMM
* Patrol shop floor to seek assurance that products being manufactured and packed conform with customers requirements and implement SPC (Statistical Process Control) to ensure standards are measured
* Draw up initial work instructions / Quality visual aids and adjust/improve as necessary
* Monitor and ensure correct use of work instructions on shop floor
* Ensure scrap data is correctly recorded and presented to Manager for PPM metrics
* Suggest and implement as directed, continuous improvement ideas, from a quality standard perspective
* Sugest and implement as directed, cost-saving & scrap reduction ideas
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, in line with 5S protocols
* Conduct internal Audits inline with ISO standard / schedule
* Support with external Audits from BSI etc.
Personal
* Has worked in a similar role in the automotive or aerospace industry
* The ideal candidate will have at least one year's experience of working in manufacturing environment, following a Quality Management System (QMS) with certification under ISO/IATF standards
* Knowledge and experience of New Product Introduction/Part Approval processes (training can be provided)
* Be able to use a variety of measuring equipment including; micrometer and vernier. Ability to operate the CMM would be a big plus but not essential
* IT literate especially with Microsoft Excel
* Hands-on individual
* Good team player
* Have an eye for detail and a problem solving mindset
* A willingness to learn and ambition to progress
* Ability to communicate well with customers
Hours
This is a day role where you will work 42.5 hours per week (with a half hour unpaid break each day) Mon-Fri. A flexible approach to working additional hours, possibly on evenings or occasional weekends is requested.
