This is a great opportunity to join Tiffin School to provide professional support to the School Governing Board and its closely associated charity, The Tiffin School Foundation. Tiffin School is a friendly, dynamic, and highly successful state funded selective school where all can thrive, and staff and Governors are highly valued.
The Governors are looking to appoint a highly organised and self-motivated governance professional to work effectively and efficiently with the Chair of Governors, Chair of The Tiffin School Foundation, the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team and the Governors and Foundation Trustees.
As the governance professional you will ensure the smooth running of both the Governing Board and The Tiffin School Foundation: preparing agendas and meeting papers; taking minutes; providing administrative support; and providing procedural and legislative advice. As Tiffin School is a single academy trust, you must be familiar with the financial and compliance regulations applicable to academies. You must also have excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills.
This is a part time role. To give an indication of the size of the role, the schedule of meetings for 2024-25 for the School Governors and Trustees of the Foundation is attached below. The pattern of meetings will be broadly similar in 2025-26. Most meetings are held remotely. You will also be expected to attend meetings in person at the School where this is specified. In addition to the meetings, you will also remotely support some ad hoc daytime Governor link meetings and be available to arrange and support the very occasional Governor panel. The position is open to someone who wishes to continue similar work with another school or charity.
You will keep up to date with developments in the secondary education and charity sectors by attending relevant briefings and training.
To apply, please complete the application form below.
Closing date: Noon on Monday 30 June 2025
Interviews will be held shortly afterwards
Please note: the Governing Board may hold interviews as and when applications are received and we reserve the right to offer to a candidate prior to the closing date.
Tiffin School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers, online social media checks and the Disclosure and Barring Check.
