We are looking for calm, resourceful and energetic Support Workers who are highly motivated, hardworking and keen to support people with learning disabilities and mental health needs in a proactive and holistic manner at our Barnet service, Lingwood Court. You will have well-honed skills in positive communication and engagement and be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for our service users. You will support people to maintain a healthy state of wellbeing mentally, physically and emotionally, and empower individuals to be happy, healthy and successful in achieving their life goals.
Responsibilities
* Provide support with personal care and domestic tasks as part of a flexible role on a roster basis, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins as required by the Barnet service.
* Support individuals to access work, education and social opportunities.
* Engage with people using strengths-based, person-centred approaches and empower them to pursue their goals.
* Contribution to a supportive circle of care, promoting wellbeing and independence.
* Utilise skills in positive communication and engagement to foster meaningful relationships with service users.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous experience is desirable but not essential; a can-do attitude and gumption are valued.
* Willingness to undertake personal care and domestic tasks as part of the role.
* Flexible working on a roster basis, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and willingness to undertake training and qualifications.
Training and Development
* Full local and corporate induction, and attainment of a level 3 certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care.
* Automatic enrolment onto the NVQ level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care after probation.
* Ongoing professional development opportunities throughTraining offices in London and Reading, with supervision and appraisal meetings to discuss development needs.
