We are looking for a Female Support Worker to join our Adult Services team in Poole, where you’ll play an important role supporting a young gentleman in his day-to-day life. A Genuine Occupational Requirement applies under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. This role is therefore only open to female candidates, referring to the sex legally assigned at birth. To be considered for this role you must hold a Full UK manual driving licence and have access to your own vehicle. Please note: Autism Unlimited does not provide visa sponsorship. The role Myles lives independently in his own home in Poole and communicates both verbally and through visual supports, including PECS, signs and gestures, each forming part of his unique way of expressing himself. He enjoys an active and varied lifestyle – from singing at karaoke nights and trips to the cinema, to challenging his support team to a game of bowling. On quieter days, Myles enjoys relaxing at home watching his favourite Marvel films or spending time with his family. Our ideal candidate would be someone who is calm, patient and confident with implementing boundaries which ensures Myles feels safe.
