Wycombe Wanderers FC is a League One club with ambition. Under new ownership, we’re on an exciting journey to grow the club through development of a new and progressive academy at the recently refurbished Harlington training ground.
Reporting to the Head of Academy Sport Science & Medicine and the club doctor, this role will contribute to the evolution of our academy medical team. We’re looking for a dedicated doctor, with postgraduate qualifications in the sporting setting and who is competent in the care of the paediatric and adolescent population.
The successful candidate will be responsible for medical leadership and clinical governance support to the Performance and Medical Department. You will co‑ordinate, support and deliver sports medicine provision, ensuring players receive optimal medical care to enhance performance, safeguard player welfare and comply with regulatory standards.
This is a part‑time role with a once weekly attendance in‑person at the academy training ground, but also including periodic evenings, weekends and travel. Matchday coverage of the senior team will be required on occasion to cover for the club doctor in the event of sickness or other unavoidable commitments.
Required Characteristics
* To be in good standing with the General Medical Council
* A minimum of a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine or working towards completion
* Valid UK driver’s licence
* Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check
* Previous experience in the sports medicine setting
* Competence/experience in musculoskeletal ultrasound
* Hold an MRCGP qualification
