Description Salary £25584 - £27269 per annum l Permanent l Full time, 37 hours per week l Educational Off Site Visits Team International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship The Educational Off Site Visits team provides health and safety advice, support and guidance to all Lancashire County Services who take children and young people off site and almost 600 Lancashire schools. The function of the team is to ensure that the county council fulfils its legal responsibilities under health and safety legislation. Educational Off Site Visits strive to be equal or better to the best available services. This means more young people accessing greater off site learning opportunities to enrich their lives and enable learning to be meaningful. We are seeking to appoint a full-time health and safety assistant working 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday. The successful candidate will support all aspects of the work of the Educational Off Site Visits team and take on specific health and safety related responsibilities around effective group supervision and practical application of the Educational Off Site Visits Policy for schools and internal county council services. Key accountabilities The post holder will support all aspects of the work of the Educational Off Site Visits team. They will also be responsible for a varied workload of their own encompassing all aspects of health and safety, including but not limited to: • assisting in the development of the county council's educational Off Site Visits Policy and Guidelines • updating and maintaining the EVOLVE customer facing educational visits database • the publication of health and safety communications to customers • contributing to the annual monitoring exercise of Type A (lower risk) off site visits • supporting the preparation of monitoring reports to the Educational Off Site Visits Advisory Board • gathering and analysing accident/incident trend data • assisting with queries relating to policy and educational visit submissions by customers • providing health and safety advice and EVOLVE user support to Lancashire County Council staff and school customers Please ensure you have uploaded and attached your supporting statement to evidence how you meet the criteria for the role.
