Department: Transport Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver Location : Birmingham Hours : Variety of shifts available including days and nights Mon-Sat Salary : £15.08 - £20.05 depending on start time and shift pattern Job Summary: To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines. Key Responsibilities: To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users. To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc. To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays. To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle. To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work. To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times. To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle. To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management. Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for Hazchem's. To maintain a smart appearance at all times. To help maintain good customer relations. To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management. Meet all Health & Safety requirements. . Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: Full UK LGV Class 2 (C) licence with CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. Strong communication and customer care skills. Experience in multi-drop delivery environments / pallet work (highly desirable). · Compliance with Health and Safety standards Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders Experience in route planning is advantageous. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
