Description About this role Business Unit Overview: iShares & Wealth (iSW) is a key client business within BlackRock in EMEA, responsible for the strategy and distribution of the breadth and depth of BlackRock's platform and products. The iSW team is dedicated to representing our Index capabilities to EMEA clients and our full investment offering to Wealth clients. The iSW COO team is responsible for driving commercial impact through the ongoing enhancement of business metrics, delivery of technology solutions across the client businesses & accelerating business alignment across partner groups. Job purpose / background: We are looking for an Associate to join the iSW Client Strategy team. The role will be critical in providing key business and market insights on specific topics to inform decision making. The role will also require supporting and delivering the business's strategic projects in EMEA, as well as key client development activity. The Associate will work with cross-functional teams, connecting with multiple stakeholders in the organisation, including senior management, and offers significant exposure and growth opportunities. Key to performing well in this role is the capability to utilise analytical skills, possess a results-oriented mindset and have the ability to work under pressure. Key responsibilities: In this role, you will: Perform market analysis that will inform the business's Wealth industry narrative, assessing client and product trends, and competitor analysis as inputs into strategy deliverables. Summarise information into client-ready presentations and white papers to drive client outreach, and expand the thought leadership agenda. Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to drive BlackRock's proprietary data, research and insights in Wealth. Support iSW Client Strategy with the development of strategic projects through different phases e.g., clear scoping of the project, defining an approach and analyses, gathering information from different sources and synthesizing findings. Work autonomously on the development of projects and engage regularly with senior members of the team (VP, D, MD) and senior stakeholders in the organisation to help identify and prioritise strategic opportunities. Skills & Qualifications Relevant background in strategy or research with 3-5 years of work experience; financial industry and asset management knowledge a plus. Structured communication skills: ability to communicate complex ideas top-down and ask targeted questions to arrive at a solution. Ability to independently build and maintain BlackRock's narrative on key industry trends and summarise insights into clear and effective presentation material. Analytical and quantitative skills: comfortable to perform data analysis with a good degree of autonomy and synthesise results for the team and senior stakeholders; with a keen attention to detail. Interpersonal skills: team player; confidence to engage with the team and a diverse set of stakeholders, understand their viewpoints, build long-term relationships, and create a collaborative environment within the team. A passionate interest in exploring and understanding financial markets and the asset management industry, or a desire to develop in this space a plus. A desire to grow quickly, working in a high-energy environment with commitment to excellence.
