Bradford Council’s Hackney Carriage & Private Hire Licensing Service is looking for an Investigations and Review Officer to join the Regulatory and Compliance Team. This role offers the chance to make a real impact in Bradford's vibrant and diverse city. The Hackney Carriage & Private Hire Licensing Service oversees the licensing, inspection, and enforcement of taxi and private hire drivers, vehicles, and operators across the Bradford District. The main aim is to keep the public safe when using these services.
This role is based at : Shearbridge Depot, Shearbridge Road, Bradford, BD7 1PU

Main Responsibilities
• Gather and record evidence, intelligence, and information from multiple sources in a legally compliant way.
• Interview witnesses and complainants to collect all relevant details for investigations.
• Analyse and evaluate evidence in serious or complex cases, ensuring all materials are handled correctly.
• Prepare cases for prosecution or appeals and produce accurate written reports for committees and courts.
• Communicate effectively with the public and colleagues, provide high-quality customer service, and help improve Licensing Service processes.
Essential Skills
• Strong experience working in a regulatory, customer-focused service environment.
• Confident dealing with people from diverse backgrounds, including in challenging or hostile situations.
• Skilled in taking witness statements and giving written or verbal evidence at hearings or courts.
• Experience in enforcement work; some vehicle or mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
Desirable Skills
•Ability to drive or travel independently around the region.
