The primary role involves providing medical support for dermatology clinical studies, including advanced therapies such as cell and gene therapies, within the NIHR Clinical Research Facility (CRF) and at NUH clinical areas.
The post holder will collaborate with experienced senior researchers to support the implementation of clinical trials involving patients and healthy volunteers in an established academic environment. This environment benefits from on-site acute medical services and experienced administrative support. Additionally, the role includes supporting risk assessments and mitigation strategies for early-phase studies, including ATMP clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the timely delivery of clinical studies adhering to medical standards and regulatory requirements, including sponsors, ICH GCP, and other guidelines.
2. Provide medical assessments and coverage for dermatology studies, working with the clinical team, CRF’s senior clinical staff, and nurses.
3. Collaborate with CRF Directors and staff to develop strategies for managing medical safety issues and emergencies.
4. Assist with subject recruitment, including pre-study medical histories, informed consent, medical examinations, and dosing.
5. Provide medical cover outside normal hours as required by the study needs.
6. Ensure studies are conducted safely and in compliance with protocols, accepting delegated responsibilities.
7. Make specific medical decisions related to studies in consultation with the Study Principal Investigator.
8. Perform clinical procedures such as examinations, testing, IV insertions, and adverse event assessments.
9. Evaluate and manage adverse drug reactions and toxicological emergencies under supervision.
