Overview
We are looking to welcome you! – an experienced Occupational Therapist with knowledge and understanding of working with individuals during a mental health crisis:
Role responsibilities
* To develop and oversee the provision of an evidence-based occupational therapy service within the Crisis, Assessment and Treatment Team in Ealing, in collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams, service-users and carers.
* To manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence-based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcomes.
* To provide specialist Occupational Therapy input to planning, development and evaluation of clinical services within designated areas, holding responsibility for defined projects.
* To deputise for the Senior Manager within the service as required and take responsibility for supporting the CATT manager in the management and co‑ordination of the OT Service.
* To ensure that the Occupational Therapy service delivered to patients is client‑centred, needs‑led, evidence‑based and non‑discriminatory.
* To identify Occupational Therapy goals as part of the overall care plan, using specialist mental health and Occupational Therapy assessment tools and outcome measures.
* To ensure patient/group treatment programmes are monitored, evaluated and modified as required on a regular and systematic basis to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention.
* To apply a high level of understanding of the effect of disability and provide training and advice on lifestyles and adaptations to improve the service user’s social and physical environment.
* To facilitate fieldwork education for Occupational Therapy students undertaking placements within relevant areas and be responsible for the supervision and written assessments of these students.
