Shift Lead /Band 6 Endoscopy Unit – Fulltime/Min 30 hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the senior clinical management team in our JAG Accredited Unit.
We are looking to appoint a Shift Lead with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who demonstrates good leadership and educational qualities.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have excellent clinical skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to work and make decisions autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team which includes Consultants, Endoscopy Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Radiologists and other specialist services.
They must have extensive knowledge in a variety of endoscopy techniques and procedures. They must also be willing to support the daily management of the Unit and maintain quality standards of care. The successful applicant will be expected to support the Lead Nurse in the continued development and transformation of service delivery.

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
1. First level registration
2. Educated to diploma level or demonstrate experience of operating at this level
Desirable criteria
3. Educated to 1st degree level or evidence of study at degree level
4. A recognised course of study in teaching and assessing
Knowledge and Training
Essential criteria
5. Evidence of professional development and regular study since qualification
6. Effective leadership skills
7. Intravenous drug administration skills
Desirable criteria
8. Venepuncture and cannulation skills
Experience
Essential criteria
9. Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
10. Substantial post-registration experience
11. Recent Endoscopy experience
12. Experience of close liaison with members of multidisciplinary team
Desirable criteria
13. Experience of regularly managing a team of staff and other resources during shifts, within the acute setting
