Overview
Environmental Impact Assessment consultant at senior/principal level to support water sector EIA advice and delivery across the UK and contribute to team growth. Role involves technical oversight and governance for water sector EIA development projects, reporting into the UK&I Environmental Advisory, Assessment and Planning discipline lead. Hybrid working with choice of Stantec office base.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic environmental advice and/or EIA delivery (including screening, consultation, scoping and ES delivery).
* Lead and oversee EIA development projects with a focus on water sector needs, ensuring governance and quality standards across the team.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the UK & Ireland to support growth and capability strengthening of environmental teams.
* Engage with stakeholders to manage environmental constraints and integrate diverse technical inputs.
* Contribute to non-EIA projects with significant environmental components as required.
About You / Qualifications
* Environmental or related degree; chartered status (e.g., CIWEM, CIEEM, IEMA).
* Understanding of the UK environmental consultancy market with entrepreneurial and commercial drive to grow teams in a collaborative environment.
* Experience in regulated water industry projects and a broad EIA technical and legislative knowledge; expertise in one or more areas such as geo-environmental, ecology, archaeology, landscape, acoustics, or coastal/marine environments is desirable.
* Experience with EIA as part of the DCO process and with Strategic Environmental Assessment is helpful but not essential.
