🌊 Senior Quantity Surveyor – Wastewater treatment Infrastructure | Leading Main Contractor | Hybrid (3 Days On-Site)

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a passion for shaping critical UK water infrastructure? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial lead across a portfolio of water infrastructure works, ensuring projects are delivered profitably, safely and to the highest standards.
This is a hybrid role, typically 3 days per week on site, covering the area between Reading and the Cotswolds.
💼 What you’ll be doing
As a key member of the regional framework commercial team, you’ll be trusted to drive financial performance and safeguard commercial interests across multiple live projects.
Day to day, you’ll be:
* Managing commercial activities on major sections of work or across smaller schemes
* Providing accurate, timely financial reporting monthly and quarterly
* Working closely with Contracts Managers to ensure commercial success and clear communication
* Drafting and reviewing subcontracts
* Leading, developing and mentoring junior commercial staff
* Ensuring all contract notices, applications, claims and final accounts are submitted correctly and on time
* Managing subcontractor performance, payments and relationships
* Leading or contributing to dispute avoidance and resolution
* Running key commercial meetings and having line management responsibilities within the team
🔍 What we’re looking for
You’ll bring strong technical skill, commercial acumen and hands-on experience delivering major infrastructure projects in a main contracting environment.
Specifically, we’re looking for:
* Experience working on Wastewater treatment Infrastructure projects
* A solid understanding of the construction industry and commercial processes
* Strong knowledge of measurement, valuation and standard forms of contract
* Ability to interpret drawings and specifications confidently
* Proven ability to negotiate with clients and subcontractors
* Awareness of CIS and dispute procedures
* Experience producing accurate CVRs, forecasts and final accounts
* Competence with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

* Experienced in risk assessments, value engineering and resolving commercial challenges
* Comfortable managing live projects from early stages through to final account
* Experienced in procuring major subcontract packages
* A natural mentor with experience developing junior team members
* Professional membership (e.g., RICS) is highly advantageous
