About the role
As a Graduate Trainee, you’ll join our Service Design and Digital Adoption (SDDA) team within Transformation Services.
You’ll support the design, development, and implementation of services and digital products that improve the way we work and deliver for our residents. From user research and service design to testing and rollout, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our services and digital tools are accessible, efficient, and user-centred.
You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team that’s transforming how the council manages its digital products. Together, we’re making services better for everyone.
Transformation Services is an innovative, fast paced and large team providing digital and data services as well as delivering change management and innovation initiatives. We enable the organisation and its partners to achieve their outcomes and continually improve and evolve the services we deliver to the people of North Yorkshire and beyond.

About you
We’re looking for someone who has a passion for digital and technology and a genuine customer centric ethos to put the customer at the heart of everything we do.
You will be educated to degree level, ideally in either a digital or IT discipline.
You may have knowledge of service design, digital support or service improvement, or experience of user research, system configuration, or digital product delivery. Perhaps you’ve supported IT change projects, worked in a customer-focused digital environment, or contributed to improving user experiences through technology.
Key responsibilities
As part of the graduate programme, you will:
· Support the design of user centred services and digital products including undertaking user research and testing.
· Support the implementation and continuous improvement of digital products and services.
· Monitor the performance of our digital products and services including how well they are meeting the needs of the user.
· Communicate and collaborate effectively with relevant teams within Transformation and the wider business.
· Support progress reporting and development of plans.
· Adhere to the implementation of appropriate principles and standards relating to the digitisation of council services.
· Deliver high quality customer experiences and ensure a coherent and coordinated approach.
· Benefit from being able to participate in the corporate graduate development programme.
