About East Riding Pension Fund

East Riding Pension Fund, based in Goole, is responsible for administering the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) on behalf of more than 340 employers and supporting over 130,000 members. Our recently restructured administration team, of 75 dedicated professionals, is committed to delivering an outstanding pensions administration service to members, employers and other stakeholders and are constantly striving to improve and innovate our service delivery.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for the position of Pensions Officer within our newly created Technical & Training Team.

Are you passionate about accuracy, compliance and helping others succeed? If so, join our Technical & Training Team and play a key role in shaping the future of pension administration.

In this role, you will assist the Senior Pensions Officer in providing technical expertise and training within the pension administration service. You will ensure compliance with LGPS regulations and legislation, accuracy of benefit calculations, and deliver ongoing staff training to support the section.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for upholding excellent pensions services within the Technical & Training Team including:

1. Developing and delivering induction and ongoing training for staff.
2. Monitoring and improving data quality and administrative processes.
3. Maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and GDPR.
4. Interpreting and applying LGPS regulations and relevant legislation.
5. Conducting manual testing of benefit calculations for accuracy.
6. Providing technical support for system updates and process changes.
7. Compiling and reporting KPIs, performance data, and regulatory breaches.
8. Responding to customer and stakeholder enquiries professionally.
9. Updating ERPF website content as required.
10. Undertaking other duties appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility.

The Candidate

This role calls for strong understanding of LGPS regulations and pension legislation; you must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be able to respond positively to regulatory changes and evolving processes, and the ability to manage priorities and deliver training effectively.

If you are looking for a role that combines technical expertise with people development, want the opportunity to influence processes and drive service

improvements as well as working in a collaborative environment then this role could be for you.

We support blended working arrangements, facilitating employees to balance professional and personal commitments. New team members will undergo comprehensive training based at our Goole offices before transitioning to a flexible blend of office and remote work.
