Job Summary We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic pre-construction team. You will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical building services projects (HVAC, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and associated systems), supporting the sales and project teams from tender through to handover. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented estimator with strong mechanical expertise to work on varied, high-profile projects in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including materials, labour, plant, and subcontractors Thoroughly review technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify scope, risks, and value engineering opportunities Source and negotiate competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors Collaborate closely with the sales team to develop compelling bid proposals and tender submissions Participate in client presentations and technical clarifications when required Carry out occasional site visits and surveys to support estimate accuracy Maintain and update cost databases, benchmarks, and historical pricing information What We're Looking For Essential: Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator, M&E Estimator, or similar role within building services / construction Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, heating, ventilation, pipework, ductwork) Proficiency in reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, and BOQs Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills for supplier negotiations and team collaboration Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites occasionally Desirable: Experience with estimating software (e.g., Causeway, ConQuest, Excel-based systems) Knowledge of fast-track fit-out projects and refurbishments Understanding of current building regulations and industry standards Why Join?
