Backstage and the operation

Backstage is a project for the future – a six-storey space for creativity, education and community right next door to our historic building. The space includes a welcoming public cafe and workspace by day and a vibrant bar and restaurant by night, a Clore Learning Centre, a Writers’ Room, a free Script Library, a flexible rehearsal room that can become a studio theatre and an event space with a terrace. The Backstage F&B offer is centered on the ground and first-floor café and bar, with event catering and grab-and-go provisions for the theatre. Backstage will have an overall capacity of 181 (61 covers) across two floors and will be open early to late, six days per week.

The daytime artisanal cafe serves high-quality coffee and baked goods in a space where culture meets coffee; this space transitions into an evening bar offering a social dining experience built on small plates.

The team includes the Operations Director, Head of Food & Beverage Operations, Deputy Head of Food and Beverage Operations Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef, Chef de Parties, F&B Duty Managers, Cocktails Bartenders and Waiting Staff.
